Olivia M. Gross is the partner in charge of our insurance coverage and appellate practice groups.  She is a 1985 graduate cum laude of Pace University School of Law where she was a Merit Scholar and recipient of other honors for outstanding achievement. She has been with the firm since 1987, became a partner in the firm in 1993, and has developed expertise in a wide spectrum of claims defense work, insurance coverage matters and cargo litigation. An expert negotiator and mediator, Ms. Gross is actively involved in trucking/vehicular, premises liability, commercial, construction, and insurance coverage litigation. She frequently lectures on premises liability, accident prevention, claims investigation, indemnification, insurance coverage and defense strategy. She has made her mark in the insurance industry by systematically handling large volume claims litigation while maintaining unsurpassed quality control and cost consciousness and achieving excellent results. She has been responsible for changing the law in the defense industry's interests through her appellate advocacy and tenacious litigation.
In recent years, she has handled countless declaratory judgment actions in the state and federal courts and has been responsible for numerous risk transfers and indemnity recoveries in insurance litigation on behalf of our clients.  In one ongoing program involving a major global construction manager, her practice group has effectuated risk transfers resulting in savings and cost recoveries aggregating in the tens of millions of dollars and she has achieved commensurate results for other national clients, state and municipal agencies, and casualty insurers.
Ms. Gross is a member of the New York State Bar Association, Torts and Insurance Sections, Defense Research Institute, and Professional Women in Construction.
